As I mentioned earlier, I've been checking out the Sony PSP.

There's just one critical flaw.. The battery only lasts 2 and a half hours!
That's right, you could watch one movie and maybe get 30 minutes of Tony Hawk in before you had to find an outlet. This is something Nintendo has always understood in regards to portable gaming: The battery has to last.
Current and upcoming portables (GBA SP, N-Gage, DS, PSP) are free from the "Oh shit, I need to buy some double As" problem thanks to their internal Li-ion batteries, but the dilemma remains. No one wants a portable system that only lasts a couple of hours.
I really wanted to like the PSP, but the battery just kills it for me. Here's hoping Sony gets it right next time.

Anyway about what I was saying after reading the post I thought it was funny that Penny Arcade was the next thing I was going to see with their post about E3. I think there will be quite a number of people not enjoying the PSP.
Now people are going to get confused about PSPs. Paint Shop Pro and PlayStation Portable. Just you watch.

Is it really that bad? You have an imported one I'm guessing. How can they have made the battery life so poor. I guess the UMDs and the screen just eats batteries like a monster.

I think the psp is awesome, i mean I dont care about the battery life. the psp caqn play movies music and games. And the psp has ps2 graphics. how cool is that. I really dont like Ds, if yyuo like ds i hate you. I dont know why people would complain about the battery life, im not going tom play the psp for 2 hourss straight anyway. Iam going to get the psp. and dont get the ds

i heard alot of people are aignst the psp. my mom thiks its not good because you have to get all new games for the psp. my brother doesnt like it because it has a memory card. and my dad doesnt like it because he thinks the memory cards dont have enough space. Overall my family doesnt like it, but i like it so much. did you know in the future the psp might become into a moblie phone. psp is a whole new generation, i knmow the psp is expesive but to me its worth it. and the psp looks really cool. I would give the psp a 10 rating. it rles

That was based on information available back in May... According to some importers, the battery life is a bit better than originally though, but still not very good.
Early adopters are also having problems with dead pixels and the square button not working.
And on top of all that, the US version will cost about USD$50 more than the Japanese version.
Of course, the problem is that the 4-player Darkstalkers game looks awesome... So I do want a PSP, but I think that it will be prudent to wait a couple of hardware revisions first. After all, just look at the longevity of the initial models of Sony's other gaming products.

I've just bought my PSP it rocks and the battery will last 5- 6 hours on a full charge the sound screen everthing rocks get one! it even has a little meter telling you how many hours of battery you have left.
